The main film that stands out is Steven Soderbergh’s four-hour epic Che, starring Benicio del Toro as the Cuban revolutionary. It’s up against Clint Eastwood’s new movie Changeling, with Angelina Jolie as a mother whose child gets a kidnapping. They’re up against 18 others in the race for the Palme D’or award.
Outside competition are the premieres of Kung Fu Panda, the latest film from the makers of Shrek, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Them and Woody Allen’s new threesome-based movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona, with Javier “I KILL YOU” Bardem and Penelope “Taller-than-the-average-Cruise” Cruz. Hmm, that could work…
